I know you feel confused

By what was wrong

And what was right

By what we did that night

And now you run from me

And deny your true feelings

Just to survive having to return

To a place that should be your solace

And not your prison

 

Somewhere along the way

You have forgotten

And

You have denied to yourself

The truth of what we did

 

Of what we said

And how we felt

Of what we promised

And the freedom

In finding yourself

 

And your future

The passion, and compassion

The tenderness in each other

Which brought us into oneness

 

A oneness that will last forever

A oneness of our souls and our destiny

Drifting upon a sea of memories

Both future and past

 

My sweet beloved

That bond has a right to exist

And you have a right to create yourself anew

To slip the shackles of your guilt

To free yourself from oppression

And a misguided sense of obligation

To an abuser

To a destroyer of dreams and hopes

A false obligation to the one who knows you not

Nor ever could

 

I hold my flame rightly within me

Stoked by a fire of undying love

For you, and your little one

And I know that I am unworthy of you

And always will be

Yet I will lead the way if you follow

And we will reach our promised land

Of this I am certain

It will take an act of courage

And faith my princess - in yourself

For once we set off there can be

No turning back, without even

A greater loss of yourself to his darkness
